Multi-instrumentalist and composer Orestis Tsinalis was born in Athens, Greece, in 1985, and lives in the UK. His first album, “Breath of Light”, will be released in May 2024. Two singles from the album, “Ariadne” and “Through the Ocean”, have been released. The album has a cinematic mood and structure, and bridges contemporary jazz with experimental rock.
Orestis composed and produced “Breath of Light”, played all the instruments in the album (guitars, drums, bass), and recorded it in his home studio in London and then Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The album was mixed by Grammy-nominated Portland-based mixing engineer and producer Tucker Martine (Bill Frisell, Calexico, R.E.M.) at Flora Recording and Playback, and mastered by legendary Grammy-winning mastering engineers Greg Calbi and Steve Fallone (Bob Dylan, John Mayer, Lady Gaga) at Sterling Sound in New York.
Orestis was raised into a musical family—his first instrument was the drums, starting at the age of eight and gigging by the age of twelve. Soon after picking up the drums, he picked up the guitar and took classical piano lessons. He has gigged and recorded with multiple bands since.
Outside of music, Orestis is an entrepreneurial technologist focusing on generative AI in tech startups.
